This workshop will be concentrated in how to create a glass work of art that creates a pocket for flowers. With using a refractory product that the glass fuses around to make a pocket. These can be made to hang on a wall, hang in a window or made to stand up in a wood base. However, you can use this in any variation that you want.You will create a small glass vase in the style you want, free standing or hanging. You will learn how to create the depth with the refractory paper so the glass creates a pocket for your flowers. You will also learn the chemistry of glass, firing temperatures and how glass behaves under heat. This is a one day class with pick up of projects at a later date due to firing the glass in the kiln takes 24 hours total. This workshop is for beginners who have never worked with glass before.
