PRESS RELEASE: Pocatello Planning & Development to Present Citywide Housing Study Findings
The City of Pocatello’s Planning & Development Services Department, in consultation with Stantec, will host a public open house to share information and gather feedback on a new citywide Housing Plan.
The open house will take place January 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. During the event, participants will learn about findings from a recently completed citywide housing study, as well as proposed recommendations and strategies that will help guide development of the City’s Housing Plan.
A presentation on the study findings will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session and open discussion. Planning staff and representatives from Stantec will be available throughout the evening to answer questions and collect community input.
The Housing Plan was identified as a priority project in the City’s Comprehensive Plan. It will include a housing demand study and needs analysis, an evaluation of current regulations, potential recommendations for updates to City code, strategies to expand housing options, and opportunities for public-private partnerships to support affordable housing.
