"Miyagi was a staple. No other way to put it. He was also a gatekeeper to craft beer in Chico, but not like so many other gatekeepers you've met. He kept the assholes out, and let everyone else in. He was willing to take beer seriously. I remember studying with him and several others for the Cicerone test. I remember him being so humble and unafraid of what he didn't know about beer or life, yet there was a hell of a lot you could learn about life and beer from a guy like Miyagi. The last time we spoke was New Year's Eve, my birthday. We joked as usual about making this beer and nothing seemed amiss.Mental Health is no joke, and it's important for everyone. As a father and husband, I know how hard it is to be vulnerable. It's hard to admit that you are not strong enough when there are people on this earth who think you're the strongest man in the world. Every superhero has a team - find yours.

There will be live music by Katie Barrett from 6pm-8pm, but feel free to join us anytime after 3pm that day. We will be sending a portion of the proceeds of this event to help support the Pocock family.
