About this Event

PNPI’s FSA Boot Camp is designed for participants interested in advancing their knowledge of federal student aid. Boot camp participants are generally nonprofit, government, think tank, national association staff, or public policy students interested in a career in federal higher education policy. Attendees will be provided with an opportunity to engage with their peers and current policy professionals while participating in the boot camp and leave with a grounding in the topics.

Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of:

  • The current costs of college and trends over time
  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Student Aid Index (SAI)
  • The Federal Pell Grant Program
  • Federal student loans and student loan borrowers
  • Student debt
  • How debt and default intersect with socioeconomic status, race, type of institution attended, and amount borrowed
  • The federal student aid repayment programs
