PNCA Design Lecture Series w/ Karen Hsu

We're welcoming in Karen Hsu, co-founder of Omnivore, for a talk about graphic design, creative collaboration, and what moves her.
About this Event

The PNCA Design Lecture Series welcomes a broad range of creatives who are breaking expectations of what design can be and do in the world.

Karen Hsu is a middle-aged mother, middle child, and one-third of the design studio Omnivore, a Brooklyn-, Portland- and Los Angeles-based design studio comprised of Karen Hsu, Alice Chung and Julie Cho. Their work focuses on art, architecture, and culture-related design work balanced by a strong commitment to cause-related projects through a unique and collaborative approach.

Omnivore is a hidden gem. This Asian-women-founded, owned, and led studio is responsible for some excellent design work that flies under the radar in the NYC, LA, and PDX scenes across branding, environmental, books, illustration, and web. Some prime examples of their projects in our communities include the Art Map for the Cultural Corridor of Portland, Converge 45, Don't Shoot and the Black Gallery, and The Moth.

She holds a B.F.A. in graphic design from Oregon State University and an M.F.A. in graphic design from Yale University School of Art. She is on the board of the Portland Art Museum Contemporary Art Council.

Karen's talk is the grand finale for our Fall series, so make sure you sign up to save a spot!

This special talk will be in-person only.
