PNCA Design Lecture Series: Emily Klaebe

The PNCA Design Lecture Series welcomes designers from all over the world to share their work and what moves them. In our November 2024 installment of the PNCA Design Lecture Series, typeface and brand identity designer Emily Klaebe will talk with us about her work and a process that is deeply rooted in research, strategic thinking, and incredible detail.

(she/her) is a typeface and brand identity designer who dives deep into research and strategic thinking. Since 2020, Emily has been designing identity systems at Order. In 2021, her role grew to include leading design at Order Type Foundry. Order Type Foundry designs and releases practical typefaces that will stand the test of time. Her work in all areas is founded in thorough research and strategic thinking. Her designs show the results of a process defined by focused intention and detail: classic designs updated in fresh ways for clearly modern usage. In 2022, Emily completed San Francisco’s Type West postgraduate certificate program at the Letterform Archive in designing comprehensive type families. Since completing the program, Emily has continued her connection to education by teaching the foundations of type design. We can’t wait to chat with her about her path and what drives her work.
