Plymouth Farmers Market Season Kickoff
Schedule
Thu May 18 2023 at 02:30 pm
Location
101 Carver Rd, Plymouth, MA 02360-4643, United States | Carver, MA
On any given week, you can expect to find a variety of organic and conventional seasonal produce, fruits and mushrooms, pork, chicken, eggs, beef, cheeses, local, wild-caught seafood and day-boat scallops, baked necessities and indulgences, handmade soaps, pasta and spices, local honey, and much more. Market owner and Farmer of Plato’s Harvest, Dave Purpura, describes his experience with the market, "When I was starting out as a produce grower I needed access to a good market to sell and this market was available to me. I've tried to continue that access to small, local, family-run, food-based, producer-only operations, which also, I think, bring the absolute best that consumers can hope to find."
Plymouth Square has been going through many exciting changes and growth over the past year including outdoor events and programming for Plymouth residents to enjoy. When asked about the move, Dave Purpura responded "We'll definitely miss the charm of the grassy field at the museum, but this spot offers us increased parking, visibility, and a more organized way of handling the traffic. Bringing you a curated, diverse, food and agriculture-focused market where you can source most all of your weekly grocery needs remains our number one goal." Additionally, Plymouth Square and its businesses including Plymouth GPub, will bring many exciting opportunities for collaboration with the market that the community can look forward to each week.
The Plymouth farmers market maintains its long-standing relationship with the Plymouth Public Library to bring story time to the market. Kids and families start streaming in around 4:15pm, and when Miss Maddie arrives at 4:30pm she's greeted like royalty. The market also enjoys relationships with the best in local musical talent - quality artists that come back year after year and are widely recognized. Abby Vail will be the musical entertainment for the season kickoff on May 18th. There is also a massage therapist on hand to add to the charm.
Plymouth Farmers Market and its vendor community are looking forward to welcoming new and seasoned market guests on May 18th. When the opening bell rings at 2:30 pm, it’ll be time to fill your market bags with the best the region has to offer!
