PLOT POINTS IN OUR SEXUAL DEVELOPMENT BY MIRANDA ROSE HALL, DIRECTED BY PAETON CHAVIS, STARRING BUG JOHNSON AND ALLY IBACH

Theo and Cecily want to be honest about their sexual histories, but what happens when telling the truth jeopardizes everything? A contemporary queer love story, Plot Points in Our Sexual Development explores gender, intimacy, and the dangers of revealing yourself to the person you love.

PAETON CHAVIS (she/her) is a playwright based in Brooklyn, NY. Her debut in both playwriting and directing, How to Dispose of Your Dead Dad's Sex Doll, which she also performed in, premiered in 2021 at the Vino Theater in Brooklyn. In 2022, she was named Best Director at the SheNYC Arts Playwriting Festival for her work on the Gabrielle Wagner Mann play Pot Odds, performed at the Connelly Theater in NYC. In October 2023, Paton directed the site-specific play Spark, performed at a real sex club in Chinatown, New York. Other recent Credits include Curse, which she co-wrote along with Tais Szilagi and performed at the Attic @ The Tank in 2024 and The Outcall at Brooklyn Art Haus and The Tank in NYC in 2025.

BUG JOHNSON (he/they) is a trans playwright, actor, and drag artist based in New York City. Bug’s writing often explores mythology, religion, and sexuality. He is passionate about uplifting LGBTQIA+ artists and creating space for and by underrepresented voices. Select highlights of Bug’s writing include Hello, my name is Autism which was published in the PGE’s Faces of America anthology, and his newest play, The Golden Ass, which is currently undergoing workshopping at The Actor’s Studio in Manhattan. Bug’s work as an actor also reflects his passion for developing new plays, including originating roles in the upcoming Pup Play and the recent off-Broadway production of Spark.

ALLY IBACH (they/them) is an actor, playwright, voiceover, and theatre artist. Ally holds an M.A. in Acting from East 15 Drama School in the United Kingdom, where they performed as Ariel in The Tempest at Shakespeare's Globe. Ally made their Off-Broadway debut with their play Midnight Cowboy Radio at Theatre Row and then performed it at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It has since been performed across the US/ UK. Ally is a proud Equity Actor and Ring of Keys, Rise Theatre Collective, Dramatists Guild, Writers Guild of Great Britain and American Theatre Wing Play Reader's Club member. Ally's Independent Theatre work in New York has been supported by IndieSpaceNYC and The Dramatists Guild. New York theatre includes A.R.T., The Cell Theatre, Dramatists Guild, Upright Citizens Brigade, Open Jar Studios, The Tank, Theatre Row, Secret Theatre, Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre, New Ambassadors, Stonewall Inn, and The Brick. Currently studying screenwriting at The Juilliard School and a member of the Ambassador's (AMBIES) program at MCC Theater.

Miranda Rose Hall is a playwright from Baltimore, MD. Her play Plot Points in Our Sexual Development premiered at LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater in October 2018. Her play The Hour of Great Mercy premiered at Diversionary Theater in San Diego in February 2019. She is currently under commission from LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater, Yale Repertory Theater, and Trinity Repertory Company. She has developed her work with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, The Playwright’s Realm, New York Theater Workshop, Baltimore Center Stage, Woolly Mammoth, NNPN National Showcase of New Plays, the Kennedy Center/NNPN MFA Playwrights Festival, Orlando Shakespeare Theater and the Orchard Project. She is a member of the Emerging Playwrights Group at Two River Theater, and is currently Resident Playwright and ensemble member with LubDub Theatre, a New York-based physical theatre company. Miranda was the 2013-2014 Hot Desk Playwright in Residence at Baltimore Center Stage, where she helped launch the program Wright Right Now. She has taught at Georgetown and Wesleyan University, and as a teaching artist with Baltimore Center Stage and Arena Stage. Miranda spent two years with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest, serving marginalized populations in Anchorage, AK and Missoula, MT. She graduated with her BA from Georgetown University and her MFA from the Yale School of Drama.
