Dr Neil Gostling is Associate Professor in Evolution and Palaeobiology at the University of Southampton, in the School of Biological Sciences.
Neil’s research has looked at everything from genes patterning nervous systems to embryos fossils of the earliest animals in the fossil record, plant root development and describing dinosaurs from southern England, the diets of the first mammals and how they evolved, and how the first bird- Archaeopteryx- could have taken to the air… All contributing to the greatest idea people have ever had… Evolution!
Neil goes into schools and to science cafés to talk to people of all ages about this. It sounds complex, but it really isn’t. It’s fun to explain this, and people can understand!
Come and find out about Isle of Wight Dinosaurs, and the dinosaurs’ descendants, the birds at a fun and accessible talk, where you will discover why we are still in the age of dinosaurs.
Tickets are free but please do book in advance.
