✨ This workshop will be split into two portions! Participants are welcome to come for one or both if they’d prefer. Bring your prop and water! This workshop will take place rain or shine ✨
🔥 Geometric Tech for Dragonstaff 6-7pm
Think dragonstaff isn’t a techy prop? Think again! This multi-level, conceptual class will cover beginner-friendly (and advanced) ways to make dragonstaff movement look multidimensional and technical. We will explore the three dimensions of dragonstaff with stalls, finger rolls, chi rolls, pendulums, and T-rolls. Primary focus will be given to the wheel and wall plane.
🔥Horizontal Plane Intensive 7-8pm
From the matrix to palm spins to duckouts- many of dragonstaff’s most iconic movements utilize the horizontal plane. Building on the concepts of geometric tech, this class contains tracts that are appropriate for every skill level. Beginners will develop their intuition for staff with palm spin transitions, while intermediate and advanced spinners will learn to utilize their whole body with horizontal traps, duck-out escapes, and variations of the matrix.
