Five Saturdays, June 20 and 27 and July 11, 18 and 25 (No class July 4), 9-11 a.m.

This outdoor painting class is designed for artists with, or without plein air experience, who are looking to deepen their practice in a natural setting. Taught in oil paint, students will explore techniques in composition, color mixing and brushwork while responding to the unique challenges and inspiration of painting on location.
Each section will take place in a different scenic spot, either at Manito Park or the Finch Arboretum. Artists are encouraged to observe closely, paint expressively, and build confidence working outdoors.
The first class takes place at the Spokane Art School, where we go over the supply list, the basics of color theory and a Plein Air exercise. All other classes will be held either at Manito Park or the Finch Arboretum.
