On Thursday, February 19th, Plazadrome is thrilled to present the long awaited 4K restoration of NADJA (1994). Produced by David Lynch and directed by Michael Almereyda, this loose adaptation of Dracula's Daughter sucks the blood out of a century of vampire lore and reconstitutes it into an ultra-hip, post-modern arthouse offering like nothing else you've ever seen.
Nadja Dracul (Elina Lowensohn)'s life is thrown into turmoil when her father, Count Dracula, is murdered at the hands of Dr. Van Helsing (Peter Fonda). Her quest for freedom from her father's curse will send her careening, cigarette in hand, through mid-90s New York City on a path of revenge, seduction, and death set to a soundtrack full of Portishead, My Bloody Valentine, Spacehog, and The Verve.
This chilling reverie shot in stunning black and white also features performances by Martin Donovan, Galaxy Craze, and Jared Harris with a cameo by Lynch himself! Nadja has been on the Plazadrome shortlist for a long time and we're excited to finally have an opportunity to share it with you all on the big screen.
