Turn research data into creativity and critical thinking to spark fresh ideas and unruling art projects. - IN PERSON
About this Event

This four-session seminar-workshop interrogates the boundaries between rigorous academic inquiry and expressive creative practice, repositioning qualitative inquiry as an embodied, tactile, and multimodal playground. Moving conventional coding grids, thematic matrices, and static reporting, this series invites scholars, doctoral researchers, and artists to treat empirical materials (field notes, transcripts, institutional records, and theoretical models) as raw artistic media.

Grounded in Arts-Based Research (ABR), critical inquiry, and creative synthesis, participants will explore how poetic, tactile, print, and performative interventions disrupt traditional interpretive habits. Through hands-on experimentation, researchers will learn to mobilize subtraction, collage assemblage, micro-publishing, and script generation to surface affective nuances, power dynamics, and relational layers that standard academic prose often flattens. By the end of the series, participants will not only possess concrete methods for "undisciplining" their analytical routines, but also tangible prototypes suited for unconventional scholarly dissemination, public exhibitions, or community dialogues.

Session 1: The Echoing Voice: Found/Black-out Poetry and Speculative Narratives

Session 2: The Radical Page: Zine-Making as Counter-Archive and Dissemination
