Playing in the Dough
Participants will learn how different types of fats affect the tenderness and flakiness of pie crust, how to select and prepare fruit for the best pie fillings, and how natural thickeners can help create the perfect consistency without a runny or leaking pie.
Best of all, participants will put what they learn into practice by making their very own pie to take home and enjoy.
Whether you're an experienced baker or just getting started, this workshop offers a fun, hands-on opportunity to learn the science and techniques behind a great pie.
Part of the event will take place in our Milling and Baking Laboratory. For your safety, pants and comfortable closed-toe shoes are required. No shorts, skirts or flip-flops permitted. Those not in proper outerwear will not be able to participate in the day’s events. Prior to arriving to the event, please view our safety and security video.
Cost: $75 per person
A $25 fee will be billed to those who fail to cancel or attend. The registration fees cover lunch, refreshments and workshop material costs.
