Young artists will explore the exciting world of color and space through drawing and painting! In this hands-on class, students will learn how to mix the primary colors to create a rainbow of new colors while experimenting with paint in fun and creative ways. Artists will also be introduced to the basics of perspective and distance, discovering how to make objects appear near or far in their artwork. Through playful projects and guided instruction, students will build confidence in their artistic skills while developing a stronger understanding of color, composition, and visual storytelling.
Monday: Learn about primary and secondary colors. Practice color mixing with watercolor, and try creating a color wheel.
Tuesday: Learn about foreground and background in a landscape scene. Understand what makes an object appear close or distant. Practice distance creating a landscape with drawing materials and watercolors.
Wednesday: Learn more about distance and perspective in a cityscape scene.
Thursday: Practice making a cityscape with drawing materials and watercolors.
Friday: Practice making your own final masterpiece using perspective and color mixing.
