play with clay: slow sunday sessions

Join me in my beautiful new artist studio in Amsterdam Zuidoost!
Each month will focus around a specific theme I am exploring in my art practice
Information and inspiration related to the monthly theme will be provided before and at the start of the session

July theme: queer ecologies & ecosensuality

There will be two sessions a month of four hours each
If you sign up for both sessions in a month you can continue work on the same piece/s

Important: We will not keep the creations!
Instead there will be a mini expo day with photoshoot (for July’s creations this will be Sunday 4th of August - time tbc)
On this day everyone can come and see the final pieces before the clay is reclaimed, ready to be made into something new
This is an intentional practice of experimenting and letting go, making temporary playful work, and reducing the energy and carbon costs of working with clay
I hope this will develop a more sustainable, deeper, (inter)connection between the clay and space and myself (and maybe you too)

Open to all levels of experience and confidence; I will be there to support and offer guidance (if desired) while also working on my own ideas
No experience with clay is required; I will share handbuilding techniques as required and be available for any questions

Accessibility: the studio is accessed via one flight of stairs and has a wc shared between four artist’s studios (not wheelchair accessible)

I aim to make the space as accommodating of neurodivergence as possible - as everyone has personal needs I encourage open conversation of sensory needs and preferences (this can also be shared beforehand via email)
I will ask questions at the start of each session about learning styles and possible accommodations

Sliding scale cost: 35-65 euros (dependent on financial ability)
All tools, materials, a light lunch and drinks provided

There will be 2 - 6 people per session

Earthcraft is located close to Kraaiennest metro, as part of OAZO (Open Ateliers ZuidOost) in Amsterdam Zuidoost, 1104CA

If the weather is great we may choose (collectively) to work outside

Currently this is a summer experiment for collective art, feeling, and making
