About this Event
Around the world, millions of children spend the majority of their childhoods working in private homes. These children are subjected to long and tiring days, hazardous conditions and harsh treatment, and are denied their rights to education, play, rest, proper compensation, and protection. Two thirds of child domestic workers are girls and the same proportion are under the age of 14. For too long, the issue of exploitative child domestic work has been hidden and disregarded, considered a domestic decision or a matter of social and cultural norms.
During September’s UN General Assembly in New York City, the Freedom Fund invites you to an expert panel of activists, practitioners, partners, researchers and funders to share emerging research on exploitative child domestic work and discuss effective solutions.
Light refreshments will be served.
