We have finalized details for this years Play For Heart tournament. I know that most of you know Todd's story and have been following his journey for some time now. For those that don't know, here is a summary:Todd's heart journey began February 5, 2016. We were playing our typical Friday night Co-ed softball game After batting, while running bases, he collapsed, suffering a near fatal heart attack. After spending time on life support he beat all odds and was released home. We were told that he would need a heart transplant at some point. That time is here. In January, 2021 Todd was implanted with an LVAD. It's an internal heart pump which is controlled by batteries that keeps his heart pumping. Fortunately he has been able to continue playing softball, the game he loves.
He is currently listed for heart transplant and we just await "the call" that a donor heart has been found. We are raising money to assist with the extreme costs associated with transplant. Copays, medications, and medical supplies as well as trips to/from Kansas City, where his heart failure team is located..
