PLAY is an exiting new Community project composed of Monthly Gatherings that celebrate creativity, family and the human imagination. These gatherings are guided by a group of professional artists that will each introduce their practices and conduct creative workshops. As a result, co-creating a performative event together with the participating families.
The aim of the project is to create a bond between the families and set a cornerstone for building a community in Amsterdam Noord based on creative expression and the act of play.

Each workshop will offer a wide array of activities designed to encourage creativity and enjoyment. Using games and playful experiences as part of the process in order to incorporate and appeal to the wide age group of participants.
The fundamental pillars of the gatherings are music and dance; they will be used as tools of individual and group empowerment. Combined with the mediums: drawing, video, digital and textile arts; serving as graphic / aesthetic platforms to facilitate the intersections and translation of different creative processes and creating the setting/scenery for the performance space.

We aim to use recyclable, organic and natural materials, placing importance on creating environmentally friendly artworks and leaving a green footprint.
As part of the workshops we will include work with plants and the relation of our bodies with the natural environment in the city; we have planned the outdoors activities of PLAY in partnership with the Nature & Environment Learning Centre located a few hundred metres from ReMo.
The team is composed of international artists based in Amsterdam. Reflecting the cultural diversity of this country and the necessary constant work of integration and social interaction to which we commit ourselves.
