Plastic in Seafood - Sow. Grow. Eat. Repeat!

With more than ten million tonnes of plastic getting released into the ocean each year, we know that plastic pollution is growing problem. But how is that impacting our local South Australian environment and marine life? Join Adelaide University marine researcher, Dr Nina Wootton, as she shares her knowledge on microplastics in Australian seafood and how plastic pollution is affecting marine species. Learn some top tips for reducing plastic use, and potential solutions to the global plastic pollution problem.

Sow. Grow. Eat. Repeat! is a program developed by the Victor Harbor Library and supported by an Innovation Grant from the Libraries Board of South Australia. The program aims to encourage sustainable food and lifestyle practices in our community through a series of educational events and programs over a three month period in Spring 2022.

To support this program the Library will install the first Seed Library in Victor Harbor and the Fleurieu, within the Library. The Library will also add a Grow Free Trolley and curate a new collection of materials and resources to assist our community to grow and continue to action sustainable practices.

Our hope is to continue to build and assist our community in Victor Harbor in establishing ongoing sustainable food, lifestyle practices.

This program has been developed with the support of a number of fantastic community organisations.

2) No need to print the ticket, just check in at the event.

3) No refunds can be issued for tickets cancelled within 7 days prior to the event. Eventbrite booking fees are unable to be refunded.

Programs fill fast. If you are unable to attend please cancel your ticket(s) to allow availability for other people to participate. If you are running late please contact the library on 8551 0730.

Unfortunately if you arrive 15 minutes later than the start time your booking may be given to someone else.
