Plastic Free July Kick Off

The City of Little Rock Sustainability Office, Southern Tail Brewing and The Green Corner Store will kick off this year’s Plastic Free July initiative on Tuesday, June 30, at 10:00 a.m. at The Green Corner Store. The public will have an opportunity to learn more about Plastic Free July. Complimentary tea and snacks will be served.
Throughout July, we encourage you to choose one or more actions to reduce their plastic waste, such as bringing reusable shopping bags, refusing straws and utensils that are not needed, and choosing reusable alternatives to common disposable products.
You will also have an opportunity to find out about Little Rock’s Green Restaurant Program.
Epic Glass Recycling, dedicated to closing the glass loop by giving recycled glass new life, will launch an Upcycled Glass Art Challenge at the June 30 kickoff event. Local artists can select a reclaimed glass piece and transform it into an original one-of-a-kind work of art. The artists will display and sell their finished creations at “The UnPlastics” event on July 26.
