Plaster Molding and Clay Class - for Teens and Adults
About this Event
How do you use plaster cast art?
The process is very simple.
The artist chooses several small objects as inspiration. ...
The objects are then pressed into a layer of clay to create a mold.
Plaster is poured into the mold to create a cast.
First plaster sculptures, figurative in character, go back to 7000 years B.C. Egyptians pioneered casting method and were using plaster with their hands to make head and face cast of the deceased. In the third millennium B.C. Romans were using plaster molds of Greek sculptures and paint to make reproductions.
