Greetings! Thank you for your interest in participating in our Plants are our relatives workshop & Dakóta plant walk! We will enjoy learning together, history, Indigenous foods and tea!

Come learn from Anishinaabe Lakota teacher Simone Rendon about plant medicine. Together we will walk and greet some plant relatives, learn about their medicinal properties and discuss better ways to protect them.

Simone Rendon is an Anishinaabe & Lakota mother, teacher, and plant medicine keeper. She enjoys teaching all ages how to connect and protect the natural world around us. Simone has worked within her Native American community engaging with families and uplifting our plant nation. She is an advocate for clean water and community building.

Hosted by Blue Hummingbird Woman Tanaǧidaŋ To Wiŋ is a Dakota and Anishinaabe other. She grew up in Imnížaska (Saint Paul), Minnesota. She studied Dakóta language and culture at Metro State University. She is the author of Takoza: Walks With the Blue Moon Girl, Animals of Khéya Wíta, Animals of Nimaamaa-Aki, and Awáŋkičhiyaka pi. Tara is inspired by the loving hearts of her sons: she is a creator, plant medicine enthusiast, and has always loved to write. She believes in the healing power of storytelling.
