Join artist Allison Juneau for her artist talk titled: “Plants and Paints,” discussing her recent show “Consumed” at the Bear Gallery. Participants will explore the cold wax painting process, the joy of plant collection, and view key works from Allison’s unique painting practice.Allison Juneau is a landscape and botanical artist from Oklahoma. She employs a highly textural impasto method using oil paint and cold wax medium in her large-scale paintings. In 2011, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Minor in Art History from the University of Oklahoma, before uprooting her life to explore the subarctic. She then received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2020, and still works for the University as a staff member, instructor, and visiting artist.
