Planting an Orchard at Forever Fields, Whalley Range Manchester

This is a great opportunity to get outside in the winter months and meet other like-minded folk! We are creating a new orchard over at Forever Fields and will be planting exciting fruit varieties including nuts, olives and mulberries as well as delicious apple varieties.

Some of the tasks will be quite physical including barrowing woodchip, digging the ground with spades and using a tool to drive posts in. Other tasks will be less physical including placing the trees in their new homes and creating coded maps. Please come along for the enjoyment of coming together with community even if you are not planting the trees!

Please wear closed, sturdy outdoor footwear and gardening clothes and bring with you any rain protection you might need on the day. All ages welcome, under 16s must be supervised by their parents/guardians.

We will provide all the tools you need, light refreshments and hot drinks, there are toilets onsite. Bring a packed lunch with you if you need something more than a snack.
