About this Event
Join us for a free walk of plant talk! As we stroll through Prospect Park, learn how to identify common plants, learn edible and medicinal species, and learn about ecology. We'll share fun facts, plant history, wild recipes, and more. Whether you're new to learning about plants or you're a total plant nerd, this event is for you! Come ready to learn, to explore, to maybe nibble on some wild plants, and enjoy a nature-filled afternoon in Prospect Park. All ages are welcome!
ARRIVAL: We will meet at the Prospect Park Boathouse at 11am. Please arrive at the start time or a few minutes before if you can. We will wait 15 minutes before we begin walking as it is best we begin the walk together. If you are running late, please contact your guide Serena by email at [email protected].
WHAT TO BRING: This event will run for an hour and half, so we suggest bringing water with you. Make sure to wear shoes that you are comfortable getting dirty in. If you want to collect any plants, a paper bag or small plastic bags with paper towel are best, as well as any hand tools you might want to bring! We will provide some as well.
CANCELLATION: This event is rain or shine! In case of extreme weather we will cancel.
This is event is free! Donations are not required and are only open if you would like to donate.
