Join us for a Plant Walk at Donald J. Lamoreoux Trail!

Get ready to explore the beauty of nature on a guided foraging walk along the stunning Donald J. Lamoreoux Loop Trail. Join plant educator, Heather Walsh of Rooted Connections, as we learn about the various edible & medicinal plants and flowers that call this trail home, while exploring some unique samplings along the way.

Event Details:

• Date: Sunday, June 30
• Time: Check in begins 10:15 am, please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to sign waivers and prepare to walk. The Plant Walk starts promptly at 10:30 am. If you arrive late, we are unable to wait for you, so please come find us along the main trail
• Location: 4385 Coit Ave NE, Grand Rapids Twp, Michigan. Please note that this park has two parking lots. If you type in Donald J. Lamoreaux Park in your GPS, it will bring you to the wrong location on Baily Street where the baseball diamonds are. Please use the physical address provided on Coit Ave for the correct location.
• Parking & Restrooms: There is a large dirt parking lot with plenty of parking. We will meet for check ins in the parking lot. There are no restrooms available at this location.
• Who: This Plant Walk is for humans age 12+. Please no pets, but service animals are always welcome. Rooted Connections events are a safe place for members of the LBGTQIA+ & BIPOC communities.
• Wear: Clothing appropriate for the day’s weather, comfortable outdoor, closed toed shoes/boots, tall socks and long pants. (Please be mindful, there’s always a chance we could encounter some mud, poison ivy or ticks).
• Bring: Notepad & pen or a charged device for notes, Bug spray & Sunscreen, Water bottle, Umbrella or Rain jacket in the case of rain.
• Weather: Class will remain scheduled in the event of rain. However in the event of severe or extreme weather, class will be canceled and refund will be issued.
• Cancellation Policy: Full refund for cancellations up to 24 hours before class start time. No refunds less than 24 hours before class start time.
