Quinta Mazatlan | McAllen, TX
About this Event
In this 90-minute-long program we will learn what features to pay attention to when trying to identify plants, how to be able to look at a plant and tell what family it is in, how to use the website and app inaturalist to learn what family a plant is in, why grouping plants by family is important and why knowing what family a plant is in already tells us so much about a plant that we may have never encountered before. We will also learn about a few dozen of the native plants that evolved and grow in South Texas as well as how they are able to cope with the extreme climate and heat of this region.
Questions at the end (and throughout the program)
This is basically a $5 suggested donation event. If you're broke, no worries, just set the ticket amount to $1 so that you can still register and we are able to tell how many people are attending.
At the end of the course you will receive a link to download a few educational resources on plant identification and terminology.
