In this easy 60-minute downhill walk we will obtain a perspective on plant biodiversity and human impacts on endangered species.๐ณSpecies radiation in the Southern Hemisphere with New Zealand examples - Kลwhai, Hebe (Veronica) and Kauri
๐ฟ Examples of rare and endangered species owing their situations directly to human activities. These plants include -
๐ Shrubby toroaro/mingimingi (Muehlenbeckia astonii),
๐ Three Kings kaikomako (Pennantia baylisiana),
๐ Bartlett's rฤtฤ (Metrosideros bartlettii)
๐ Three Kings vine/akapukaea (Tecomanthe speciosa).
Meet at the Cable Car Entrance Lookout, Upland Road, Kelburn
Cost: $5 (cash only, please). or free for Friends.
This is part of the regular walks run by the Friends of the Wellington Botanic Garden, they run twice monthly throughout the year with a different topic every time.
