Planning for incapacity in order to avoid guardianship proceedings

Through the use of estate planning documents you can indicate who you wish to care for you and who can make financial or medical decisions on your behalf. In the event of incapacity, if specific documents are not in place, a guardianship may be needed. This can be an expensive, and sometimes lengthy process.
