About this Event
Fairfield County’s Center for Housing Opportunity (FCCHO) is pleased to invite you to an evening of conversation and education about the local affordable housing plans recently adopted by Fairfield County’s towns and cities, moderated by Hearst Connecticut Media.
In 2017, the Connecticut legislature passed General Statutes Sec. 8-30j, requiring every municipality to adopt an affordable housing plan by June 1, 2022. FCCHO, along with experts from DesegregateCT and Regional Plan Association, has reviewed and assessed each plan adopted to date in Fairfield County, measuring them against the recommendations in the Connecticut Department of Housing’s Planning for Affordability in Connecticut guidebook.
During this free event, these housing experts, alongside local officials and representatives from community institutions, will discuss the content of these plans, the opportunities they offer for the region, how to translate them into action, and why they matter for every Fairfield County resident.
