Sat Mar 21 2026 at 09:30 am to 12:00 pm
UTC-04:00Location
310 Allen Rd, Ste 601, Carlisle, PA, United States, Pennsylvania 17013 | Carlisle, PA
Begin with guidance on identifying common irritant plants such as poison ivy to support safer outdoor work. Then, explore thoughtful decision-making—balancing what to preserve, what to adjust, and what to reimagine—as participants evaluate site conditions, plant possibilities, and seasonal priorities for garden bed preparation. Led by Penn State Extension Master Gardener Carol Glasgow, the program highlights achievable, step-by-step techniques rooted in extension best practices, while encouraging optimism and creativity for the growing season ahead. Participants will also create a cheerful, take-home pansy planter, with all materials supplied, reinforcing hands-on learning and seasonal inspiration. By bringing together gardening fundamentals, safety awareness, and imaginative design, this workshop reflects the Master Gardener commitment to education, stewardship, and cultivating vibrant home landscapes.
Register for $15 by Thursday, March 19, online at https://extension.psu.edu/planning-a-spring-garden or call Penn State Extension Registration Services toll-free at 1-877-345-0691. Preregistration is required.
