Join hosts Gail Perry and David Firman on a 4 hour, 11.5 km round trip adventure of exploring places off most pedestrian road maps.Along the way, you'll explore architectural gems, such as old St. James Anglican Church, visit hidden vest-pocket parks, investigate austere industrial parks as well as view surprising stretches of restored prairie while reflecting on airports lost and new. But, most importantly, participants will take ownership of places in our city where no pedestrian was meant to tread. This is a part of the city that we rarely think about yet it is an important industrial and commercial component of our city's overall economy. This extended tour is an opportunity to discuss, at the walker's pace, what makes it tick, what works, what doesn't, and what its future might
—or should—look like.
Date: Saturday, May 4
Time: 12PM sharp
Meeting Place: 521 Raglan Rd. Wolseley neighbourhood
Walk/Tour Time: 4 hours (12PM-4PM), with short stops at each point of interest, and benches along the way
End location: 521 Raglan Rd. by way of Omands Creek
Route follows sidewalks for the most part with occasional stretches of road beside grassy curbs and gravel trails, bring water, limited washroom along the way will be pointed out, some uneven terrain, pet friendly, fast paced, covering lots of ground
