Rainbow Council will be reserving a slot at the Plainfield Homecoming Parade 2021 and opening it up to all interested units to participate. The event is free, unless your unit would like to bring candy to hand out.Parade details are below. If you are interested, sign up at https://bit.ly/PlainfieldHomecomingParade21 by Sept. 21.
DATE: Saturday, October 2, 2021
TIMING: Units will line up around 7:45am near the Avery YMCA (15120 Wallin Dr, Plainfield). The streets will close at 8am. The parade kicks off at 9am and follows a 2 mile route through downtown to Plainfield Central High School.
DRESS CODE: Scouts and leaders should be in their Class As, parents and siblings can wear Class Bs if they have them.
HONOR GUARD: We're asking for some Scouts BSA/Venturing Crew "honor guard" scouts and leaders to lead (and possibly follow) the full group carrying their unit's American flags.
WHAT TO BRING: Units can bring their unit-specific banners/flags and holders. Units outside of the honor guard do not need to bring American flags. Families/units can hand out candy and may want to bring wagons to carry it. Units can also use this as an opportunity to add recruiting stickers/flyers to the handout.
