About this Class
From Napoletana to Siciliana to Romana - pizza is an art interpreted in different ways across every region of Italy. In this summer edition, we travel to Rome to discover Pizza alla Pala: an oval flatbread renowned for its crispy outside, soft and fluffy interior, and generous toppings. Our Scuola Chef will guide you through building your own pizza from scratch, topped with the best flavors of the season.
About this Dish
Pizza alla Pala is Rome's answer to the perfect slice - thicker than Neapolitan, crispier than Sicilian, and unmistakably Roman. Named after the wooden pala (paddle) it's served on, this style of pizza is all about the dough: high hydration, slow fermentation, and a bake that delivers a golden crust with a pillowy, airy core.

• Learn about Roman-style pizza and its origins in Lazio
• Build your own Pizza alla Pala from scratch with guidance from our Scuola Chef
• Top your pizza with a selection of summer-inspired seasonal ingredients
• Sip on a welcome Spritz on arrival
• Enjoy a selection of freshly baked Pizza alla Pala paired with a glass of wine
• Take home adapted recipes and pairing note

• One ticket purchase is valid for one guest
• Seating is first-come, first-served
• Class duration is approximate and may vary by 10-15 minutes
• All guests planning to consume alcohol must be able to produce a valid government-issued ID proving they are 21 or older. Non-alcoholic beverages are available.
• Classes are suitable for children 8+ who are passionate about Italian cuisine. Children under 15 must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
• Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance of any dietary restrictions. If we are not notified ahead of time, we may not be able to accommodate special needs. (Please note: select dishes contain pork)

Payment, Refund & Cancellation Policy
Payment in full is required at the time of registration and all sales are final. No refunds are offered on classes and events. Groups of 5–10 guests: a minimum of 7 days' notice (class day not included) is required to receive a credit in the form of a coupon for a future class or event. Groups of up to 4 guests: a minimum of 4 days' notice (class day not included) is required to receive a credit in the form of a coupon code for a future class or event We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances or inclement weather. In the event of a cancellation, we will contact you directly to offer a full refund or credit toward a future event. We are not able to offer credit, transfers, or refunds for last-minute illnesses, work-related conflicts, or personal emergencies — however, you are always welcome to send someone in your place. If purchasing this class as a gift, please share this policy with the recipient, as it will still apply. Credits issued for La Scuola events are redeemable only for future La Scuola events and cannot be exchanged for store credit or Eataly gift cards.
