I’ve been anticipating this one for quite some time. :)
A few things to note: DJing has changed a lot over the years. In nightlife, DJs are often booked for one hour sets, which can immediately put us in a box. There’s only so much you can explore and build within an hour, especially when you’re also reading the room and going with the flow of the party.
The music I play for an opening set is completely different from what I’d play at 1AM. And honestly? The first hour is usually when I’m just getting into my groove. Imagine finally finding your rhythm... and then having to get off right when it starts to feel good!!
So for this one, I’m doing things differently! I LOVE MUSIC. I love playing different genres, and discovering new sounds. I’ve always wanted the opportunity to play all of it in one room: classic house, nu disco, 80s disco, pop, deep house, tech house, minimal techno, Latin house, amapiano, and plenty more.
And that’s exactly what this edition of Pizza My Heart is about.
