About this Event

Welcome to the Pittsburgh Speakers Showcase 2023, a unique opportunity to learn from some of the regions top leaders and influencers. Join us on Saturday, January 7th at the George Rowland White Performance Center, Point Park University, as these professionals share some of their best content. The taping happens from 9am to 12noon. This event is free and open to the public. Plan to arrive and be seated by 8:55am and plan to stay until noon.

Meet The Speakers:

Beth Caldwell is a popular self-help author and entrepreneur who specializes in helping women position themselves as leaders and grow their business practice to full capacity.

You may recognize her from her edgy leadership column in the Pittsburgh Business Times or from one of her eleven published books.

Beth is widely known as the creator of Leadership Academy for Women and spent four years on the road as a teacher in Steve Harvey's Act Like a Success Institute. She has received a number of awards including Top 20 Most Influential Women on LinkedIn, Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 Under 40, and The Pennsylvania Woman of Courage award.

She’s fondly recognized here in her hometown as the founder of Pittsburgh Professional Women and will be sharing tips from her newest book Overcoming Imposter Syndrome.

Mark Houser is an award-winning journalist and frequent public speaker who has appeared on CNN, FOX, and NPR, and given a TEDx Talk. Hundreds of people have taken his "Antique Skyscraper Rooftops" guided tour in Pittsburgh. His story about trying unsuccessfully to stop the future president of France from scorching his mouth on a habanero salsa nacho chip has been published in The New Yorker. Mark is the author of the book MultiStories: 55 Antique Skyscrapers & the Business Tycoons Who Built Them.

Captain Reyné O’Shaughnessy has been a commercial airline pilot for over 34 years for a Fortune 50 company. Retiring as a B767 captain she has logged over 10,000 hours of total heavy jet flight time. Her aircraft experience includes B727 and A300/310, B767/757 and, notably, thirty four years ago was one of the first women B747 qualified.

She is the author of the popular book This Is Your Captain Speaking: What You Should Know About Your Pilot's Mental Health and is a sought-after global speaker on the topics of leadership and mental health.
