Pistol 1 (Women's Only)

This course teaches safe and efficient gun handling and marksmanship skills through dry and live fire applications. You will leave this course with knowledge and skills to continue training at own pace and will best prepare you for taking more advanced courses. This is an outdoor range, and we train in less-than-ideal weather conditions as long as it's safe, so prepare accordingly with good hydration, food, rest, and attire.

Admirative Notes Upon Arrival

Must be a a US Citizen or legal resident with a valid state or federal picture ID.

Must be at least 18 years of age to attend this course.

Must be physically capable of bending, squatting, kneeling, and running (own pace).

Upon arrival, leave firearms and equipment inside locked vehicle until directed.

Report to the FishHawk range store for check-in with ID @ 8:30 am.

You will receive a golf cart after check-in for transporting self and equipment to and from range.

• Marksmanship (laying the foundation)
• Loading and unloading sequence
• Reloads and magazine exchange
• Immediate and remedial action
• Ready positions
• Sighted fire (confirmation 1-3)
• Draw stroke
• Multiple threats
• Movement and turns
• Single hand shooting

Must Bring With You

• Driver's License or state ID
• Full size or compact semi-automatic pistol (no revolvers or micro pistols)
• Outside waistband holster, dominant side, worn at 3 or 9 o'clock position
• Magazines x 2
• Magazine pouches x 2
• Sturdy belt for mounting holster and magazine pouches
• 300 rounds of factory ammunition
• Ear Protection (preferably electronic)
• Eye protection
• Suitable attire for outdoor range operations (no open toed shoes, tank tops, or low-cut blouses)

***Note***

There will be a water cooler with cups provided if needed

Bring appropriate food and drinks to sustain yourself for duration of training.

All breaks to include lunch will be taken on the range.

The range store has full-service restrooms with showers but due to distance from the range only porta-johns will be available for use during training.

The porta johns are stocked and cleaned daily for customer use.

Sun block, bug juice, hat, or any other environmental protection you want is optional but highly recommended.
