Join us for the explosive opening of FUERZAfest’s 10th Anniversary with PIONEROS - a breathtaking theatrical dance performance honoring the Latinx LGBTQIA+ trailblazers who dared to create space where none existed.
Curated and choreographed by acclaimed Puerto Rican artist Carlos Falú, whose credits include Bad Bunny’s DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS World Tour, Broadway’s Buena Vista Social Club, the Tony Award winning ILLINOISE, Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, and Bradley Cooper’s Maestro.
Falú’s electrifying choreography brings tradition and innovation together through ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, hip hop, bomba, salsa, reggaeton, and street jazz. Across five interconnected pieces, PIONEROS combines movement, historic speeches, and raw emotion to explore our collective history of celebration, protest, gender expression, trans identity, resilience, and joy.
