Did you know that early members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints played a significant role in settling the Bay Area?
Please join us at the Temple Hill Visitors’ Center for a devotional focusing on pioneering efforts in the Bay Area! Along with inspiring music, historian and genealogist, Rebecca Ellefsen, will lead us in a discussion to learn more about these early pioneers. We hope to see you there!
Here's some information about our guest speaker:
Rebecca Ellefsen is a professional researcher, writer, and genealogist. Traveling the US, she uses humor in her presentations to teach about Ship Brooklyn Saints and early pioneers of California. You can often find her walking the streets of San Francisco giving Pioneer History Tours. Ellefsen has been working on several exciting projects. She has been committed to find, protect, and conserve the 2nd Blaze Tree which is now on display at the El Dorado County Historical Museum. Over the last four years, she has been working with private and public entities to map real estate of the Ship Brooklyn pioneers in San Francisco. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Ellefsen is a fifth generation Californian. She has served three missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including FamilySearch, and the California Living History Service Mission. She is an alum of Brigham Young University with a focus on Bay Area History. With a love of theatre, Ellefsen has performed in Music Man, Behold the Gift, Scrooge, Ship Brooklyn Musical, Willy Wonka, Magic of Christmas, Bay Area Pioneer Concert, a member of the Temple Hill Choir, and has written and directed Come Unto Christ: The Rebecca Manning Story, and Honor our Pioneers Celebration. Rebecca’s greatest love is her family. Married to her husband Danny Ellefsen for over forty-three years, they have raised four daughters who have since married and added
seventeen inspiring grandchildren to their family.
All are welcomed at our Event. No ticket reservation required.
