Piney Grove Academy Beautillion/Chisungu

The Beautillion and Chisungu is a rites of passage for our students. This is our Signature Event which takes place at the end of the year to celebrate the growth and maturity of the students that participate. A Beautillion is a celebration of the achievements of African American young men. It is a formal presentation that is done in the presence of their parents and friends. A Chisungu is a rites of passage for African American females that mark the beginning of adulthood from childhood. Both girls and boys go through months of teachings that instruct them about adult life and expectations.

This is a formal event and we ask that all participants dress in formal attire.
