The Pinetop Piranhas will host a Float-In Movie Night to benefit Swim for Cancer on Friday, June 26th from 6 - 9 p.m., sponsored by Golden Ticket Cinema Greensboro. All are welcome to join us with their biggest and best pool floats (a minimum donation for admission of $5 per float) to watch Paddington 2. Alsies Ice Cream Truck will be on site, as well as popcorn for sale. We'll also be raffling movie tickets and buckets!
Luminaries to honor loved ones who've battled cancer will be available for $2 each or 3 for $5.
Pinetop's swim team will swim laps from 6 - 6:25 p.m., with the movie starting at dusk.
Join us for a good cause, and be sure to invite your friends and family!
The American Cancer Society's Swim for Cancer began in 1973 and has since become a tradition in the Greensboro swimming community. Each year over 2,000 young swimmers from summer swim programs within the Community Swim Association of Greensboro gather at their pools to raise money for the American Cancer Society's Swim for Cancer campaign. Swim For Cancer is the largest fund-raising swimming event in the country and the American Cancer Society’s longest running fundraiser of any kind! Over the years, the fundraising effort has raised over an estimated four million dollars in the fight against cancer.
Our Pinetop Piranhas had a great turnout last year for Swim For Cancer. Even as a smaller club, we were in the top 10 of participating teams.
Even if you can't attend the event for your swimmer to swim their laps, you can still sign up to raise money for our team's donation to Swim for Cancer.
