Pinball Super League: Pre Expo Warmup Matchplay at Enterrium

Hi there, are you coming to Chicago in October for the Pinball Expo 2021?

If so the Pinball Super League invites you to warm up at Enterrium on Wednesday, October 27th at 5pm. This event is being ran by Ray Leitzke and me, Andy Bagwell, who run the monthly Pinball Super League tourney at Enterrium.

Not going to Expo? You are still welcome to come flip at our tournament!

This event will be a 9 round MatchPlay, with Swiss seeding and no playoffs. Tiebreakers will be a single randomly chosen game for the top 8, all other ties will be automatically broken by software.

We were trained on how to run tourneys by our dark master, the always kindhearted Josh Sharpe...this means ball savers are off on all games. To be specific ball savers are only off for the plunging of balls, if a skill shot gives you a ball saver or you start any mode that has one that will still be active, as well as certain scoop kickouts on games (Hello Gene's mouth in Kiss). Extra Balls are also off, if you do somehow acquire an Extra Ball, you are to plunge it without flipping or you will be disqualified for that round.

Games will be set to competition mode as well.

Location:

This tournament will be located at Enterrium in the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg IL. We will be temporarily increasing the number of pins at this location in order to meet player demand.

Enterrium is a full-service bar and restaurant with excellent food and a great beer selection! They'll be running specials during the tournament for all players.

Registration:

The player entrant list will be capped at 80 players. If the registration cap is reached, we will consider increasing the field size.

If you have never played in an IFPA tournament before, please mark New Player on the field and reach out to us via email([email protected]) with proof of your ticket purchase along with the full name you'd like to be added to the tournament as.

Cost for entry will be $20(plus eventbrite service fees). $1 of each entry will go towards the IFPA fee. A small portion of the remaining fee will go towards trophy costs(~$60), and the rest will go fully into the prize pot.

Prizes:

Payouts for top 8 finishers

• 1st 35% and the fanciest custom trophy

• 2nd 20% and a custom trophy

• 3rd 15% and a custom trophy

• 4th 10% and a custom trophy

• 5th-8th 5% each

Assuming we have 80 players the estimated payouts would be:

• 1st $504

• 2nd $288

• 3rd $216

• 4th $144

• 5th-8th $72

We will also be raffling off prizes at multiple points throughout the night from various pinball sponsors.

TLDR for the code of conduct is don't be a jerk! Harassment or bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated. The silver ball doesn't discriminate, neither should you.
