Teirangi Klever (Ngāti Kahungunu) holds her pen held as tightly as a grudge. When it comes to her poetry, Teirangi will put anyone in their place, including herself. Her poems have earned her first place at the 2024 WOMAD Slam as well as an instagram block from Immigration Minister, Erica Stanford. Unsure if her words are more yelling than they are profound, Teirangi's performances accelerate at full speed with a potent mix of vulnerability and ferocity.
As usual, the event starts with an open mic - please show up a few minutes early if you want to perform.
Cost is as usual - $3-$5 per person.
