Join The Ember Alliance and The Boulder Watershed Collective for a pile building workshop!

About: This workshop is for Front Range landowners mitigating catastrophic wildfire threat to property and forest. Please reach out to friends or family in the area looking to learn about fuels mitigation and pile building. Experienced wildland firefighters from The Ember Alliance will be present, along with a representative from the Colorado State Forest Service. Bring your questions about forest management, thinning, pile construction and pile burning. Lunch will be provided for all workshop participants. All participants must fill out a liability waiver and email to [email protected] before the workshop. Liability waiver can be found here: Liability Waiver

Bring: mask, work gloves, boots, water, snacks, sunglasses, hat, and appropriate clothing (work clothes & warm layers).

Agenda:

10:00 - Meet at 168 Divide View Dr. Please park along the road, as there is minimal parking in the driveway.

10:15-10:30 - Introductions from partners and landowners

10:30-11:00 - Forest health and management discussion, led by CSFS

11:00-11:30 - Pile construction lesson, led by The Ember Alliance

11:30 - 12:00 - Lunch Break

12:00-2:00 - Hands-on Pile Construction
