Pikopiko is an after-school toi whakaari (drama class) for tamariki and rangatahi (aged 5 - 14) held at the Māoriland Hub. Pikopiko is led by passionate, trained actors and teachers. During these workshops, tamariki and rangatahi learn performance, and storytelling skills within a tikanga Māori framework.
This term the tamariki and rangatahi will be performing in a Matariki Whakaari (Tutunui), based on the pūrākau of Tinirau and Kae.
It’s perfect for those who are interested in a creative career in the performing arts and film & tv industry, or for anyone interested in trying drama out for the first time.
Pikopiko is on Tuesdays, at the Māoriland Hub.
CLASS 1: 3.30pm - 4.10 pm: 5 - 8 year olds (Tēina)
CLASS 2: 4.15 pm - 5.15 pm: 9+ year olds (Tuākana)
CLASS 3: 5.20 - 6.30pm: Tokomanawa (Advanced - entry on audition)
? Showstopper Performance: Collaborate with our talented instructors and fellow tamariki and rangatahi to create a one-of-a-kind performance. Share your artistry with your whānau and friends at our special Matariki Whakaari on the 21st of June at the Memorial Hall.
?? Signing up is a breeze! Simply use our provided online form to enroll for Term 2. Classes run from the 29th of April until the 2nd of July.
Pikopiko classes are free for tamariki and rangatahi.
