PICTURE DAY by Levon Hawke

NEW YORK, NY – Quick and Dirty Theatre Company, a new group based in Red Hook, Brooklyn, is proud to present the world premiere of PICTURE DAY, a play by Levon Hawke. After a successful year of one-act plays and staged readings, they're now thrilled to offer their first full-length production.

PICTURE DAY runs from September 20th to October 6th, 2024, at Coffey Street Studios. The play explores the hidden lives we all lead and the unspoken truths that shape us. Set in an ordinary living room, it follows five roommates as they navigate pseudo-family dynamics, explore their sexuality and identity, and confront the complexities of modern male friendships. With the arrival of the mysterious "Picture Guy", each character must face their deepest secrets.

Levon Hawke, the writer and director of PICTURE DAY is a rising star with a background in philosophy and playwriting from Brown University. You might know him from Akiva Goldsman’s "The Crowded Room" on Apple TV, or you may see him soon in Zoë Kravitz’s "Blink Twice" or "The Thicket" alongside Peter Dinklage. With PICTURE DAY he's taking the role of director for the first time.

Starring in PICTURE DAY are BOOTH MCGOWAN, ROCCO GAGLIARDUCCI, IAN EDLUND, DANTE BILLUPS, and ARI DALBERT.

Quick & Dirty Theatre Company has quickly made a name for itself with productions like Ming Peiffer's "myTHICC" and Lee Blessing's "Las Cruces." Based in Red Hook, they have already staged six sold-out runs of one-act plays and four public readings. Other world premieres include “Full Frontal,” “The Generals,” “Blue Moment,” and “Before the Lobotomy” by artistic director Booth McGowan.
