Picnic on Spectacle Island with VTCMV

Vòng Tay Cha Mẹ Việt phối hợp cùng Boston Harbor Islands mời các gia đình Việt có con em khuyết tật và tự kỷ cùng tham gia một buổi picnic đa giác quan thật vui tại đảo Spectacle.
Các con sẽ được đi tàu ra đảo, hít thở không khí biển, chạy nhảy trên cát, thả diều, thổi bong bóng và khám phá thiên nhiên theo cách riêng của mình. Những hoạt động đơn giản nhưng giúp các con được nhìn, nghe, chạm và cảm nhận một cách tự nhiên và thoải mái.
Quý phụ huynh cần đi cùng con, cùng chơi và cùng tận hưởng khám phá đảo ngay tại thành phố Boston. Đây cũng là dịp để các gia đình gặp gỡ, kết nối và chia sẻ với nhau, cũng như dịp để các tình nguyện viên có thể chung tay góp vui sinh hoạt cùng các con nhóm VTCMV
Địa điểm: Bến tàu gần Columbus Park (đi ferry ra đảo Spectacle, Boston Harbor)
Thời gian: Chủ nhật, ngày 9 tháng 8 năm 2026 Từ 9:30 sáng đến 3:30 chiều
Nhóm sẽ gửi chi tiết điểm hẹn sau khi gia đình đăng ký để mọi người có mặt đúng giờ tàu chạy.

Invitation to a Sensory-Friendly Family Picnic at Spectacle Island
The Circle of Vietnamese Parents (Vòng Tay Cha Mẹ Việt), in partnership with Boston Harbor Islands, respectfully invites Vietnamese families of children with disabilities and autism to participate in a sensory-friendly family picnic at Spectacle Island.
This community-based event is designed to provide inclusive, culturally responsive outdoor experiences for children and their families. Participants will travel by ferry to Spectacle Island and engage in structured yet flexible activities such as kite flying, sand play, bubble play, and guided nature exploration. These activities support multi-sensory engagement, encouraging children to interact with their environment through sight, sound, touch, and movement in a supportive and welcoming setting.
Parents and caregivers are expected to accompany their children throughout the event. In addition to recreational benefits, this gathering offers an opportunity for families to build connections, share experiences, and strengthen community support networks within the Vietnamese disability community, and for volunteers to have a chance to join and support kids and teens of the Circle of Vietnamese Parents.
Location: Ferry terminal near Columbus Park (transportation to Spectacle Island, Boston Harbor)
Date: Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Detailed meeting and departure information will be provided upon registration to ensure timely arrival for ferry boarding.
