Travel back in time and meet some of Santa Barbara’s historical figures as they come to life and share their stories!
At this Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society fundraiser, Society members portray and recount the lives of real-life people buried at the Santa Barbara Cemetery. The actors help with the research, write the scripts, and provide costumes and props. Guests will travel in small groups to each location in the cemetery to hear these great stories.
Participants will be walking on cemetery grounds that are slightly hilly with uneven and soft terrain. Please wear comfortable shoes and consider sun protection (hat, sunblock) as it will be all outdoors. Water will be provided at the start of the tour.
Afterward, join us at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Santa Barbara FamilySearch Center) located at 2107 Santa Barbara Street for a picnic lunch provided by Country Meat Market & Catering. Lunch is included with your ticket purchase and contains country potato salad, cookie, beverage (bottled water, soda, or iced tea), and your choice of sandwich:
Turkey: turkey breast, applewood smoked bacon, avocado, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, and chili garlic aioli on a French roll
Italian: mortadella, Genoa salami, pepperoni, capicola, ham, Provolone cheese, green leaf lettuce, tomato, chopped red onions, pepperoncini, pickles, mayonnaise, mustard and sub dressing on a French roll
Vegetarian: grilled vegetables on a French roll
