Picking Up Sticks - A Dramady in Two Acts by Lil Barcaski

Early on a Saturday morning Rose and Joey Benevento, a very young couple, sit with detective Robert Williams in their shabby New Jersey row home. Their four-year-old daughter, Emma, is missing.

The weary detective plays referee to the distressed, and somewhat comical, couple while piecing together the events of the Friday night party that led to Emma’s disappearance. Soon, Rose’s mother, Gina and Rose’s friend Tracy arrive. Pieces of the puzzle start to fall into place, secrets and misunderstandings are revealed, and the truth begins to unfold.

The play explores surprising takes on grief, love and loss. This dramedy takes us on a roller coaster ride of dysfunctional yet loving relationships that ultimately leaves us with hope for the future of all of its participants.
